Person Centred Care
"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind it doesn't matter."
What We Offer
The Old Vicarage residential care home in Cumbria offers a 'home from home' experience which we think is attributed to the fact that the home is small and is perfect for one to one care. Our staff and residents are very much like a family, and we are always available for great conversation, games , sharing interests and as much laughter as possible; and of course administering kind and compassionate care.
We are able to provide both long-term and short-term respite care plans.
We understand that each person has their own life story and fully respect their entitlement to privacy. We also endeavour to listen and take heed of preferred choices - for example taking meals in your room rather than the dining room, preferred foods etc.
We firmly believe in offering whole person centered care that not only focuses upon medical needs, but also emotional.
Person Centred Care
Holistic care plans are structured with the emphasis upon providing the highest level of care and are tailored to suit the needs and wishes of you or your loved one.
With over twenty years of experience of providing care, we understand that long-term residents and many applicants may require higher levels of care and support than originally planned
Our holistic individual care plans focus upon providing the following:
Nutritious & Tasty Meals - We offer a varied menu and cater for food allergies - Find out more
Medication Management - Which includes accessing local and community health professionals i.e., doctors, district nurses, dentist, options etc.
Personal Care Support - Help with all personal care needs with the emphasis upon ‘looking and feeling your utmost best.’ We continually review individual care plans to accommodate the increase in levels of care and support when a resident's health condition changes. Our laundry service is second to none!
Activities & Physical Stimulation - Our team provides numerous activities and physical stimulation. We positively promote your hobbies and interests. Above all we want you or your loved one to enjoy living at The Old Vicarage.
In order to provide quality and efficient care, we introduced in February 2022 a digital management care system. This system known as Mobile Care Monitoring records a daily digital care diary for each resident. This software works effectively with administering external care provision as it provides accurate and confidential, transferable information to medical professionals i.e. doctors, hospitals, physiotherapists etc.
