Job Description

• Preparing breakfast/lunch/dinner as per residents dietary requirements.

• Creating meals which are nutritious, delicious and presented beautifully for our residents. 

• Ensuring there is a fresh supply of homemade cakes,

• Preparing food in advance to freeze and keeping an accurate stock record of frozen items.

• Responsible for ensuring kitchen equipment is both functional and safe and reporting  any faults to the Head Cook.

• Keeping an accurate record of kitchen cupboard stock levels and providing the information to the Head Cook.

• Ensuring  the kitchen and the food cellar store room are kept clean and tidy.

• Loading the dishwasher as and when required,

• Providing  mid-morning/afternoon/evening drinks and biscuits and also as when required.

• Assist the Head Cook with menu planning.

• Preparing buffets for events at The Old Vicarage as and when required.

• Advising staff with information regarding meals and compliance with dietary requirements of our residents.

Job Requirements

• DBS Clearance and References - The Old Vicarage pays for DBS Clearance.

• Experience required.

• Flexibility regarding working hours. There is no evening work at The Old Vicarage.

• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.

• Adhere to food hygiene practices and undertake food hygiene training.

• To be aware of food allergens and specific dietary requirements.

• If possible, to cover Annual Leave for our Head Cook.

• Have knowledge of temperature storage requirements.

• Weekend availability is required on a rota basis.

• Increment of £0.10 for NVQ 2.

• Increment of £0.15 for NVQ 3.

• A bonus of £2 per hour for exceeding contracted hours.

• 20 pence per mile commuting fuel allowance for journeys over 15 miles.
