As we are quite a small care home, mealtimes are more like a family gathering and compliments are often paid to the cook!

Job Description

• Creating meals that are nutritious, delicious, and presented beautifully for our residents and their dietary requirements.

• Ensuring there is a fresh supply of homemade cakes. These are always a favourite!

• Responsible for ensuring kitchen equipment is both functional and safe and reporting any faults to the Head Cook.

• Keeping an accurate record of kitchen cupboard stock levels.

• Ensuring the kitchen and the food storeroom are kept clean and tidy.

• Assist with menu planning whilst enjoying a cup of tea and slice of cake and some banter!

• Job Requirements

• DBS Clearance and References - The Old Vicarage pays for DBS Clearance.

• Experience required.

• Flexibility regarding working hours. There is no evening work at The Old Vicarage.

• Weekend availability is required on a rota basis.

• Adhere to food hygiene practices and undertake food hygiene training.

• To be aware of food allergens and specific dietary requirements.

Benefits

• Increment of £0.10 for NVQ 2.

• Increment of £0.15 for NVQ 3.

• A bonus of £2 per hour for exceeding contracted hours.

• We pay 20 pence per mile commuting fuel allowance for journeys over 15 miles.

• Starting bonus of £250 (payable after 13 weeks trial period).

• On-site parking.

• A uniform is provided.​
