Job Description

The role of a Care Assistant requires the ability to communicate effectively, empathise with the needs of others and offer both kindness and patience.  As a Day Care Assistant you are very much valued by those you care for and their families. For those who wish to pursue a career in care this role is a perfect starting point.

•  Preparing breakfast and giving it to clients & helping clients who need help in eating to do so.

•  Assisting clients upon waking and helping them with personal hygiene and dressing.

•  Making sure residents rooms are kept tidy.

•  Assisting the Head Housekeeper with cleaning.

•  Assisting the Laundry Manager when required.

•  Participating in activities with the residents.

•  Providing our residents and visitors with refreshments.

•  Ensuring clients have sufficient toiletries.

•  Assisting catering staff with the preparation of food.

•  Smiling and listening to our residents and creating a homely space.

•  Keeping a record of care for all of our residents using the Mobile Care Monitoring system (training will   be given).

Job Requirements

• DBS Clearance and References - The Old Vicarage pays for DBS Clearance.

• Flexibility regarding working hours.

• No experience necessary as we are willing to train.

• Weekend availability.

• Increment of £0.10 for NVQ 2.

• Increment of £0.15 for NVQ 3.

• Bonus of £2 per hour for exceeding contracted hours.

• 20 pence per mile commuting fuel allowance for journeys over 15 miles.
